Book of the Week: To Sleep with the Angels

To Sleep with the AngelsIt has been ages since I've done a Book of the Week--or even just a proper post, really. This week's/month's/season's Book of the Week is To Sleep with the Angels, a gentle bedtime story written by H. Elizabeth Collins-Varni and illustrated by Judy Kuusisto. Every night, as she gets tucked into bed, a little girl whispers,

"Angels, angels, all around,
Angels, angels, come surround.
Hold my hand throughout the night.
Guide me from the dark to light."

She drifts off to a peaceful sleep and her guardian angel guides her through the dreamland. This is a very comforting book for children who have difficulty falling asleep or are afraid of the dark.

We recently received a great note about this book from one mother: "I read my 19 month old daughter, Alana, To Sleep with the Angels every night. This is the only book that really relaxes her into a deep sleep. She loves the illustrations of the angels. The blue and yellow illustrations are very relaxing. I feel so fortunate to have been able to share this book with her."

Pleasant dreams!
